Getting started with Litmus Community

What is Community?

Community is a gathering place for email designers and marketers. It allows you to connect with other professionals and learn from each other through Discussions and Learning Center articles and access shared resources through Snippets and Templates. It is free and is open to everyone, Litmus customers and non-customers alike.

Within the Litmus Community, you'll see four sections: Discussions, Snippets, Templates and the Jobs Board.

Discussions

Discussions are where you can chat about all things email. Discussions can be on a variety of email marketing topics and is also a great place to get help if you're trying to troubleshoot a code problem.

You can easily search for topics or filter by using the different topic dropdown options. You can also sort using the posts dropdown which is set to "Most Active" by default. Discussions are a great way to learn from other email designers and marketers. You can start a new discussion with the "Create a Discussion" button at the top of the page.

Litmus Community

Starting a new discussion opens the editor, where you can enter a title for your discussion, categorize it using the dropdown and add the content of your post.

You can add code spans to comments and discussions by using backticks `<code>`

The code span renders in your browser in a highlighted section.

Here is the Markdown supported in Community, which is also linked to in the editor and at the bottom of every post.

Learning Center

The Learning Center is a curated wiki including known rendering issues and information about popular email clients. Community members are invited to write their own articles on email design topics as well as edit existing articles.

Your Profile

Once you sign up for Community, you can access and update your Community profile. Your profile is visible to other Community members and is a great way to allow people to connect with you. You can enter a brief bio, contact information and add in information for various social networks.

Notifications

You can set up email notifications for your Community posts/comments within the Notifications area of your account. Notifications can be immediate, rolled up in a daily digest, or shut off.
