Litmus Enterprise: managing global email clients

Managing global email clients is a great way to ensure that your entire team are testing across the same email clients when using Previews & QA.

Global Email Clients is available on Litmus Enterprise plans only.

Account Holders and Admin users can manage the email client testing suite by visiting Global Email Clients in your Account Settings. By default, all email clients will be automatically enabled for your account.

Note: These settings are on an individual account level and do not affect any subaccounts you may have. Each subaccount has its own global email client settings.

Moderate global email clients screen

To manually choose the testing suite available to your team, select Let me manually choose email clients which will show all the current email clients.

Each email client has three options:

  • Hidden - this client will not be visible/available to your team;
  • Available - this client is available but optional for testing;
  • Mandatory - this client will be used for all tests generated by your team.

After choosing your test suite, ensure you save your selection by choosing the Save global clients button at the bottom of the page.

In the example below, the Account Holder has set Apple Mail 9, Outlook 2007-2013 and Windows Mail 10 to Available, Apple Mail 10 and Outlook 2016 to Mandatory, and all other desktop clients are Hidden.

Following the email client selection above, a user within this account would see the following options in their Litmus Settings.

All tests generated by this user would return previews for Apple Mail 9 & 10 and Outlook 2011 & 2016, they have chosen not to test on the other optional clients by default.
