Using Litmus with Mailchimp
The Litmus integration with Mailchimp lets you build and test emails without manually copying and pasting code between tools, saving time and streamlining your email workflow.
NOTE: Litmus Mailchimp integrations are available on Plus and Enterprise plans.
Connect Litmus to Mailchimp
Set up the ESP sync between Litmus and Mailchimp. Mailchimp login information is required. Once the ESP sync is in place, you can sync your emails into Builder, Previews & QA for testing with email clients, Proof (Enterprise plans) for final review, or you can start a full spam test without ever leaving Litmus!
NOTE: Any Litmus user with Full, Content editor, Code editor, Admin, or Account Holder roles can configure the setup in your Litmus account.
Sync emails to Mailchimp from Litmus
From the Builder tab in your email project, choose Sync to ESP. Connect your ESP instance or choose from connected ESPs. You can sync to Templates or Campaigns in Mailchimp and even choose a specific folder or sub-folder for your sync.
Use ESP Sync to import an email
You can use ESP Sync to import draft emails for testing without having to ever leave Litmus! Select the Test your email button dropdown and then Choose from email service provider (ESP) on the Home or Emails tab. Select your ESP (if you don't have this set up yet, select Manage ESPs to create your setup). And then select the email you want to import into Litmus from your recent drafts. Once the email is created, you will automatically be in the Previews & QA tab, but you can also move to the Proof tab if you'd like to start collaborating on feedback.
Start a spam test with ESP Sync
You can also start a Spam Test using ESP Sync. From the Test your email button dropdown, select the Start a spam test option. Choose your ESP from the Pull your email into Litmus drop-down menu, select the draft you'd like to test, then Start your test.
Use Mailchimp with Litmus Extension
The Litmus Extension in the Google Chrome browser can be used to test emails as you build within Mailchimp, eliminating the hassle of switching between tools. First, install the Litmus Extension, then test as you build in Mailchimp.
Access email previews within Mailchimp
Litmus also has an integration directly within Mailchimp via its Inbox Previews tool. Test how your email will render across email clients and devices to catch and fix any issues before you send. This tool is custom built by Mailchimp.
NOTE: Subscribing to a Litmus plan does not increase the tokens provided by Mailchimp for testing. Mailchimp manages this integration, please reach out to them with any questions!
Litmus Email Analytics with Mailchimp
Litmus Email Analytics gives you the insights that matter most so you can understand what content, segmentation, and calls-to-action work best.
- Create an analytics tracking code, then include it your Mailchimp email.
- Export your email analytics data or Enterprise users can set up an FTP feed to supplement analytics provided through Mailchimp.
