Start monitoring an email
You can start monitoring your email from almost anywhere you are in Litmus!
NOTE: We monitor your email for changes in the Chrome webmail clients for Gmail, Yahoo!, Outlook, and Outlook 365 Desktop. Monitor as many emails as you would like!
Home, Emails, or Monitor menu options
Start monitoring emails from your Home dashboard and see a quick view of any alerts. Use the Start Monitoring button to select emails to monitor.
From Emails, you can individually or bulk select emails and enroll them in monitoring. Use the checkbox at the top of your Litmus email inbox to select all visible emails, then choose Monitor from the available choices that appear above your inbox. Alternatively, you can use the toggle available for each each project in your inbox list to turn monitoring on easily.
Select Monitor in the top menu to see your Email Guardian main page. If you have not started monitoring emails, you'll see your available projects. Once you start monitoring emails, you will find a comprehensive view of email health and alerts in your Monitoring overview. Emails are listed in the most recent order. You can start monitoring any email from here any time!
In your project
Start monitoring emails anywhere you find the Monitor this email button - in your Summary, Previews & QA, Proof, or Monitor project tabs.
Stop monitoring
Emails are monitored for a maximum of 2 years by default but you can customize the end date for every email you monitor. You can stop monitoring an email manually at any time. Make these changes from the Email Guardian dashboard, from the Monitor tab of your project, or from the toggle in your project inbox.
When you choose Stop monitoring, a modal will allow you to include an optional note before you finalize ending monitoring. You can restart monitoring for any email, however it will be in pending status for up to 24 hours.
Custom end date
If you select Manage end date from the options, a calendar modal will appear for you to select a specific date or you can use one of the quick options on the left from 30 days to 2 years. You'll see the monitoring start date, end date, and total days of monitoring on the right side of the modal.
Notifications
Email monitoring notifications include options for individual alerts for major impacts, monthly recaps, and monthly status updates for monitored emails.
Permission settings need to be selected for each account or subaccount with monitored emails where you want to receive notifications.
Manage notifications in the Notifications tab on the Settings page. If someone invited you to receive email notifications, you can opt out by unchecking any of the relevant choices.
Selectively turn off notifications for individual emails from the Monitor tab in a project or from your email monitoring page. Use the bell icon at the right to turn the notifications off for that specific email or, for Account Holder and Admin users, to invite other users to receive notifications.
Types of monitoring alerts
NOTE: You may receive alerts for momentary issues caused by a provider's update that they reverted within the 24 hour monitoring cycle. In that case, you won't find any changes in your email even though you received an alert.
Impact found
When an impact is detected you will be alerted by email. We will notify you of each individual impact detected across your monitored emails.
Monthly summary
The monthly summary will be sent each month of any changes found. This report is sent even if changes were not detected.
