Email Analytics access settings for Litmus Enterprise

Available exclusively on Litmus Enterprise, Account Holders and Admins have the ability to restrict Email Analytics access for users within your account at https://litmus.com/team

There are three levels of access:   Full Analytics Access, Partial (No PII) Analytics Access, and No Analytics Access.

Admin, Full, or Reviewer users can be granted different access levels. However, the Account Holder’s Email Analytics access cannot be altered—they automatically have full access to Email Analytics across the parent account and all subaccounts.

For Reviewers, “Full Analytics Access” is different than full access for Account Holders, Admins, and Full Users.

A note on PII access

As of November 1st, 2021, Litmus no longer captures PII in any tracking codes, and this data is not available to any users regardless of access level. The "Partial (no PII)" option here can still be selected to restrict users from exporting data.

Is access granted on the entire account level or subaccount level?

With the exception of Account Holders (who have full Email Analytics access across all subaccounts), Email Analytics access is granted at the subaccount level. For example, if John Smith has access to Subaccount A, Subaccount B, Subaccount C, and Subaccount D, he can have various user settings and Email Analytics access depending on the subaccount. Example:

  • John Smith is a Reviewer user on Subaccount A and has “No Analytics Access.”
  • John Smith is a Full User on Subaccount B and has “No analytics Access.”
  • John Smith is a Full User on Subaccount C and has “Partial (No PII) Analytics Access.”
  • John Smith is an Admin on Subaccount D and has “Full Analytics Access.”

Access levels

Full Analytics Access

Account Holders, Admins + Full Users

Admins and Full Users that have full access to Email Analytics can:

  • Create and edit tracking codes
  • View all summary reports (Engagement, Email Clients, and Geolocation)
  • Export all reports (Individual-level Data, Email Client Data, Engagement Data, and Activity Data)
  • Compare campaigns
  • Share reports
Reviewer Users

Reviewer Users that have full access to Email Analytics can:

  • View all summary reports (Engagement, Email Clients, and Geolocation)

Reviewer users with full access cannot export any reports.

Partial (no PII) Analytics Access

Admins + Full Users

Admins and Full Users that have limited access to Email Analytics can:

  • Create and edit tracking codes
  • View all summary reports (Engagement, Email Clients, and Geolocation)
  • Export select reports (Email Client Data and Engagement Data)
  • Compare campaigns
  • Share reports

Admins and Full Users that have limited access to Email Analytics cannot export data. They do not have access to the Individual-Level Data report, or the Activity Data report.

Reviewer Users

There is no difference between “Full access” and “Partial access” for Read-Only Users, as they, by default, have limited access.

  • View all summary reports (Engagement, Email Clients, and Geolocation)

Reviewer users with partial access cannot export any reports.

No Analytics Access

Admins, Full Users, and Reviewer Users that have no access to Email Analytics will not see Email Analytics in their account at all. It will be removed from their sidebar and they will not be able to view any existing reports or create any new tracking codes. Proof Reviewers also have no access to Email Analytics and will not see it in their account at all.
