Pauses and cancellations

Account holders can cancel a monthly or annual Plus or Basic plan subscription. Choose your account type to learn the steps you need to follow.

Cancel a free trial

You must be the Account Holder to cancel your trial.

  1. Go to your Settings in the upper right corner.

  2. Find Account in the left menu, then scroll to the bottom of the page and select the gray Start cancellation button. Can't find this option?
  3. Select an option, Continue, then select the red button that says Cancel my subscription. Your feedback is optional but appreciated!

Your subscription will expire immediately when you cancel your trial. Your content will remain available in your account when you're ready to subscribe again.

Cancel a monthly subscription

You must be the Account Holder to cancel your subscription.

  1. Go to your Settings in the upper right corner.

  2. Find Account in the left menu, then scroll to the bottom of the page and select the gray Start cancellation button. Can't find this option?
  3. Select an option, Continue, then select the red button that says Cancel my subscription. Your feedback is optional but appreciated!

Cancel an annual subscription

An annual subscription cannot be cancelled early but you can prevent it from auto-renewing at the end of your current 12-month term.

  1. Go to your Settings in the upper right corner.

  2. Select Invoices & Billing from the left menu, then use the Edit billing preferences link.
  3. Turn the auto renew button off by toggling the button to the left and select the Update billing preferences button. 

Your subscription will expire at the end of the paid annual period. Your content will remain available in your account when you're ready to subscribe again.

Cancellation FAQs

Why can't I find cancellation options in my account?

If the cancellation options are not present in the Account page of your Settings, it is likely due to one of the following reasons:

  • You are not the Account Holder. Only the Account Holder user may cancel a subscription. All other users, including Admins, will not see the cancellation options.
  • Your account is already inactive. This may be because it has already been cancelled, or is currently paused.
  • Double-check that you are on the Account page—this option is not present on other settings pages (e.g. the Your Plan page).

Can I export my data and screenshots before cancelling?

Yes, you may export your data for your Email Analytics campaigns and also download your screenshot results as ZIP files before you cancel your account. You can also download your Builder projects.

When I cancel my subscription will I lose access to all my projects?

Your account will be active and have full access through the end of your current billing period if you are on a paid plan. Trial users will lose access to all projects and features immediately upon cancelling.

Users may resubscribe at any time from the Your Plan tab of a Litmus account. With a paid account, you will regain access to your HTML projects, and tests and analytics reports within the limits of our Data Retention Policy.

Is there a contract or cancellation fee for my subscription to Litmus?

Services are subject to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. You can upgrade or downgrade your Basic or Plus plan at any time, and cancel your subscription effective at the end of your current monthly or annual subscription period. There is no cancellation fee.

NOTE: Cancellation for Enterprise plans is subject to terms outlined in your contract. Please contact your Account Manager for details or reach out to enterprise@litmus.com.

Does cancelling my subscription delete my account?

No. When you cancel your subscription, you still have your Litmus account with all your content available if you choose another subscription plan in the future. Check out How to Delete Your Account for details on removing all your information from Litmus.
